Day-by-day itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Nairobi to Arusha

    Travel from Nairobi to Arusha, meet the mountain team and complete the pre-climb briefing and gear check.

  2. Day 2

    Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut

    Transfer to Marangu Gate, register and hike through the forest to Mandara Hut.

  3. Day 3

    Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut

    Continue through heath and moorland to Horombo Hut.

  4. Day 4

    Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut

    Ascend toward Kibo Hut and prepare for the overnight summit attempt.

  5. Day 5

    Kibo to Uhuru Peak Attempt and Horombo

    Attempt the summit via Gillman's Point and Uhuru Peak when conditions and the guide's assessment allow, then descend to Horombo Hut.

  6. Day 6

    Horombo to Marangu Gate and Arusha

    Descend to Marangu Gate and transfer to Arusha for the post-climb night.

  7. Day 7

    Arusha to Nairobi or Onward Departure

    Transfer to Nairobi or the separately confirmed airport/onward connection.
