Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1
Londorossi Gate to Mti Mkubwa
Complete registration and begin the Lemosho forest approach to Mti Mkubwa/Forest Camp.
Day 2
Mti Mkubwa to Shira 2
Climb out of the forest, cross the Shira Plateau via the Shira 1 area and continue to Shira 2.
Day 3
Shira 2 via Lava Tower to Barranco
Ascend toward Lava Tower for acclimatisation, then descend to Barranco Camp.
Day 4
Barranco to Barafu via Karanga
Cross the Barranco Wall and Karanga Valley, then continue to Barafu Camp for summit preparation.
Day 5
Barafu to Uhuru Peak Attempt and Mweka
Begin the overnight summit attempt toward Stella Point and Uhuru Peak when conditions permit, then descend to Mweka Camp.
Day 6
Mweka to Mweka Gate
Complete the descent through the forest to Mweka Gate and transfer to the confirmed post-climb endpoint.
